Abby Burns serves as the formation coordinator for Seton Teaching Fellows. She was a Seton Teaching Fellow in the South Bronx for two years in Cohort 9 and 10. She served in various roles during her mission years at the Brilla Schools Network. Abby has a deep love for education and the role that education has in forming the character and soul of the individual. She believes a teacher’s mission is to form the student as a whole and holy person. Her experience serving in the Bronx has deepened and enlivened this conviction Abby believes that a well-formed teacher can, through God’s grace, joyfully and generously love as Christ the Teacher loves.
Abby studied principles of education and Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. Outside of work, she loves to sing, play guitar, bake, cook, run, and learn new hobbies from her friends and family.
