Philadelphia Manager, Blended Learning Network

Julie Pickhaver is the Philadelphia Manager for Seton’s Blended Learning Initiative at St. Malachy Catholic School. Julie joined the Seton team after serving as the third grade team lead at Young Scholars Kenderton Charter School. Previously, Julie was the English teacher and teacher leader at Gilbert Stuart Middle School in Providence Rhode Island for 5 years where she implemented the first blended learning classroom in her school. As a teacher in Providence, Julie helped 100% of students to meet their growth goal on the STAR reading assessment.  In Providence, Julie was awarded the NBC Golden Apple Award that honors teachers who believe in the true spirit of teaching by making classrooms a creative and safe place to learn, as well as an excellence in teaching grant from Hasboro. Julie graduated cum laude from Villanova University with a bachelor of arts degree in communications. She has a master’s degree in urban education from Providence College and master’s degree in public School administration from Columbia University.
