Joe Kolar

Director of Communications & Development

Joe Kolar is the Director of Communications and Development for Seton Education Partners, leading the organization's communication efforts to build relationships around the country in support of Seton's mission and the children Seton serves. Joe has over a decade of experience in the field of Catholic education, most recently serving as development director for the First Generation Initiative at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. In his first year, Joe orchestrated the second most successful fundraising breakfast in the program's history, a significant improvement after two years of decline. A graduate of Loyola University Chicago, Joe served as Lasallian Volunteer for two years after college, teaching high school at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, MD. While there, he fell in love with the mission of urban Catholic education. Joe went on to obtain his Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame, during which time he served as a hospital chaplain, assistant rector, and retreat speaker. Originally from Iowa, Joe now resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota, along with his wife, Claire, son, Eddie, and 90 pound labrador, La Salle.
